Coaching and Safe Sport

The Ontario Curling Council, CurlON and Northern Ontario Curling Association (NOCA) are committed to ensuring curling is a safe environment for all participants free from abuse, discrimination and harassment.

Coaches participating in all Ontario Curling Council, CurlON and NOCA events and competitions must complete the annual Safe Sport training and Screening requirements.  This is a requirement of all coaches regardless of the age of the athlete they are coaching.

Step 1:  Coaches must register/create a Curler Profile.

The Portfolio will record the coaches training/records

  • Participation Agreement
  • Rowan’s Law Awareness Resource Acknowledgement

Step 2:  Coaches MUST also complete/register for an additional Mandatory Training Record.

  1. Review and Abide by the Rule of Two Policy.
  2. Review and Abide by the Persons in Authority Policy.
  3. Upload a jpg or png (image) of your current (within 3 years of the last date of competition) Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.  Tips:  Take a picture of your pdf image and upload it,  or Google instructions on how to convert your pdf to a jpg/png.

Screening

Need to get a new Criminal Record Check?  Use SterlingBackcheck.ca, get results in approximately 24 hours, share directly with either CurlON or NOCA.  Fee is $25.00 (+ tax).
