COACHPARA Summit – Making Parasport Leadership Stronger

Abilities Centre, Whitby, Ontario

Sunday February 25, 2018  9:30 am to 4:00 pm

The Coaches Association of Ontario is inviting people to a professional development opportunity for COACHES interested in coaching people with a disability.  Those who have coached AWAD or have never coached AWAD are welcome to attend this learning and networking opportunity.  There is one session in particular to draw your attention to “Opening the Door to the World of Parasport”.  This session is to be a one-stop shop for new coaches looking to be involved.  It will have real people representing their sport and/or organization to be able to speak to any questions someone might have.  It will be informative, but also motivational and hopefully excite coaches about the different sports and opportunities.   In addition, a few celebrated Para Coaches in Canada will talk about their journey.  5 X Paralympian Benoit Huot from swimming, is going to be the Emcee for the day.  Agenda is attached.   The cost for coaches to register is $15 and lunch and light breakfast will be provided.  Those who attend will be given a $25 Petro-Canada Gift Card at the end of the day.

Also at this event, organizers are hoping to assemble CLASSIFIERS from different sports in the afternoon.  They will be invited to participate in a dedicated facilitated Forum / ThinkTank discussion.

Attendance to the CoachPara Summit is subsidized by a ParaStrong grant from the Government of Ontario.

The Agenda for the day is  here
